Professional statement

Therapy with Khadija is a collaborative learning process in which every client—no matter how they identify—can feel accepted. She’s very casual, relaxed, and lets clients guide the conversation to whatever topic is most important for them.

Khadija is big on narrative therapy, a modality that takes a deeper look into your life story while validating and reframing your experiences. Through this approach, she works with the client to examine and deconstruct the stories they’ve developed, internalized, and come to believe about themselves and the world around them. She helps clients develop a new story of empowerment and resilience in the face of adversity.

Khadija practices unconditional positive regard, which creates the space needed for clients to be their authentic self by emphasizing empathy, acceptance, and respect for every unique individual.

Message to clients

Everyone has the right to show up how they want to show up in the world. And yet, the stories that society tells people of color have impacted their self worth, ability to feel comfortable in their own skin, and their relationships.

I’m a licensed psychotherapist who works to empower the disempowered through an anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and intersectional approach. My focus is creating a safe, healing space for clients to be unapologetically themselves, while gaining the confidence needed to navigate the world around them.

My therapy practice focuses on rewriting those narratives into stories of strength and empowerment that place clients at the center. This allows my clients to understand their lived experience, challenge internalized beliefs, and heal from the impacts of racial stress and oppression.
