Professional statement

Kira Keenan (formerly Manser) is a therapist working primarily thru telehealth with extensive experience helping individuals and people in relationships explore and build agency within their sexuality.

Kira works with adults who need an affirming space where they can be fully seen and supported. She prioritizes forming strong connections with her clients so while in session they can be their fully authentic selves. Kira’s experience as a pleasure-focused sex educator means she has experience talking about a diverse range of sexuality topics with skill and comfort. With a genuinely curious and affirming perspective she enjoys working with people from a broad and delightfully rich range of backgrounds and experiences.

Energetic and friendly, Kira strives to create spaces that challenge and support individuals to explore sexuality by using active methods and affirmative and feminist informed therapeutic modalities. She received her MSW and MEd in Human Sexuality from Widener University and her BA from Brown University.

Message to clients

I work to create a space where people can show up as their full and complicated selves and trust that they will be seen and affirmed. I have been an educator in both the health and pleasure fields, often acting as the bridge and interpreter between the two. As a result I have expertise supporting people in the complex intersections of mental health, sexual health, and sexual pleasure- and how they can be such powerful parts of our worlds.

I hold a sex positive philosophy that frames a wide diversity of identities, desires, and sexual behaviors as healthy and normal. I center social justice, personal autonomy, and consent as my guiding values. If this sounds like a space that could be a good fit for you - I'm excited to work with you.
