Professional statement

Kristen Quinones is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York City. Kristen works with adults who are looking to build more authenticity in their lives. She helps them by empowering her clients to put their values into action and by teaching them skills to redefine their emotional experience of the world. Many of Kristen’s clients come in when they are experiencing high anxiety, feeling uncertain about how to navigate difficult situations or their relationships, are at a crossroads in their lives during a major transition, or are struggling to cope with life stress. Kristen is particularly passionate about serving the New York community as they navigate life stress and anxiety. Kristen has advanced training in Generalized Anxiety, Panic Attacks, and OCD.

Kristen is trained in Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral, and Dialectical Behavioral therapies which give her the background to incorporate skills based work and processing into sessions. This approach supports clients to strengthen their overall mental health and relationship to themselves.

Kristen’s style is interactive, engaging, and supportive. When a client first comes in, Kristen takes the time to get to know them and creates a non-judgmental and supportive space to explore therapeutic needs. Kristen is dedicated to providing a safe and professional relationship that is genuine and caring.

Kristen received her Master in Social Work at Fordham University and Bachelors in Psychology at SUNY Binghamton University. Kristen gained experience as a psychotherapist in previous counseling and group practice work, where she not only worked with clients but also provided clinical supervision to other clinicians. Outside of private practice, Kristen enjoys quality time with others, time in nature, learning about spirituality, and trying different NYC based coffees.

Message to clients

You deserve to live your life in a way that feels genuine and authentic to you, to build a relationship with yourself where you feel loved and cared for, and to grow relationships that make you feel free, accepted, and safe. Therapy with me can provide a space in your life to build this sense of self and authenticity. Many people feel out of control, anxious, or shut down in their lives when it comes to relationships or decision making. These are signs that it is time to figure out who you truly are and what you need so you can make the necessary changes to feel not only relief from feeling bad but to feel confident, secure, and at peace. I am here to help you do that. I want to understand who you are and what experiences got you to where you are today, so we can identify coping skills you need, break through unproductive patterns, and create an action plan to live a life where you are truly prioritizing your well-being and happiness. Please join me in taking the next step towards healing, growing your mental health, and building the life you want and deserve.
