Lara’s approach to therapy stems from many evidence-based therapy modalities including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Mindfulness-based Therapy. She takes a psychodynamic, strengths-based, person-centered approach to working with clients, who in turn learn how to better cope with distressing emotions.
Lara earned her Master’s degree from the California Graduate Institute in 2000 and has been a practicing as Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for the past 17 years. Her versatility as a therapist means that she enjoys working with clients of all situations, backgrounds, and cultural identities. She provides warm, engaging sessions for her clients as they make healthy changes in their lives.
