Laura Mooney
She/Her/Hers
Licensed Mental Health Counselor, LMHCShe/Her/Hers
Licensed Mental Health Counselor, LMHCLaura's (she/her/hers)goals as a therapist is to create a safe space for clients to share their experiences of trauma, anxiety & depression, self esteem, relationship issues, and a variety of other struggles/circumstances. With compassion, empathy, humor (or attempted humor!), and a listening ear, she can help to sort through the various ways in which life experiences can impact our overall wellbeing. Laura is an ally and inclusive therapist for clients of all races & ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, and abilities. She is open about her own ADHD diagnosis - and feels passionately about healing the feelings of shame, blame, guilt, and stigma that learning differences can have on those who are neurodivergent (BUT, as a disclaimer - these feelings are not unique to only those with a learning disability! :) ). Laura uses a trauma informed lens and person-centered approach to create a welcoming place for clients to feel seen, heard, and understood - perhaps for the first time.
Laura earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lesley University (Cambridge, MA) and has worked with a variety of populations. Prior to starting her own private practice, Laura worked with teenagers as a counselor in various middle and high schools, and worked with both adolescents and adults in community mental health agencies across Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Also, if interested in "in person" sessions, I have a sweet 11 year old lab who joins me at the office. If you are allergic or just not a fan of dogs, let's discuss telehealth options.
