Professional statement

Laura Mueller-Anderson is a Clinical Social Worker Therapist in Bloomington, MN and in Texas specializing in helping people regain restful sleep, shift focus from pain and trauma, and manage their overabundance of stressful thoughts so that they can once again feel a sense of peace. Many of her clients struggle with overwhelming emotions that are impacting their lives and relationships due to a wide variety of issues including depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, trauma, grief, and life transitions. She works with these clients to develop an awareness and understanding of their emotional barriers and triggers, empowering them to grow towards wellness.

In session with Laura, clients learn more about their thoughts and behaviors as well as how their thoughts and behaviors impact their emotions. Using a mindfulness approach, she uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to teach clients about harmful thought patterns and how to build better coping and communication skills to recognize and shift these patterns. She is a strengths-based therapist, which means that she believes wholeheartedly that each client has everything they need within and around them to heal. Together, Laura and her clients leverage these strengths to empower her clients to overcome life's obstacles and challenges in order to live a more fulfilling, enriched life.

Laura received her degree from Baylor University. She believes that every challenge is an opportunity to grow and connect with ourselves. Together she hopes to help her clients develop a new relationship with themselves, setting their best, most calm and confident inner-selves free.

Message to clients

Taking the step to reach out for therapy is an important choice. When you find yourself working so hard on your own to reach inner peace and improve mental wellness it can be so helpful to have someone in your corner to bounce things off of and work through ideas and thoughts. Having an impartial person who is rooting for you but not personally invested in what choices you land on can help you make headway faster and better.

It has often been said that therapy is like having someone hold up a mirror so you can see things you couldn't see on your own. I've witnessed this time and time again in my work with clients -- the support and guidance and reflection that you gain in therapy is a powerful step to moving forward in a more peaceful, confident, and balanced way.

I've seen the power of this forward progress in my clients' lives and I've felt it myself. I wish the same powerful progress for you in your journey and send you encouragement as you are taking this first step.
