Professional statement

Lauree Berger Turman is a psychotherapist in private practice in Beverly Hills, CA, and online at Facetime and Zoom. Lauree graduated from The University of Southern California's School of Social Work, and followed her graduation with internships at The Maple Counseling Center where she worked with children, individuals, couples, families, and group therapy and The Julia Ann Singer Center, where she saw families and their children and worked with children on the spectrum.

Presently in her practice, Lauree specializes in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for Couples and Individuals, Attachment-based EMDR for trauma, and AEDP, Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy, the beautifully attuned psychotherapy process for all clients. Lauree studied with Dr. Susan Johnson for Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, Dr. Laurel Parnell for attachment-focused EMDR, and Diana Fosha for Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy.

Lauree also facilitates weekly group therapy sessions on Zoom. Although the group began in the traditional office setting, after maintaining group meeting on Zoom during Covid, the individual group members prefered to meet online. The group is psychodynamic, meeting once a week, and the cost is $60.00 for a 90 minute session.

Lauree works Mondays thru Saturdays, both online and in-person. Her office is located in Beverly Hills.

Message to clients

We can do this together. Feeling alone with your frustrations and fears leaves you so feeling so terribly alone and isolated. It takes a lot of courage to call and ask for help!

We have learned thru research that what we need, as infants and young children, is to develop a safe, caring relationship with at least one primary care-giver. Given that relationship, we can grow and adapt to normal social and emotional development and challenges.

As your therapist, during our work together, I will become that safe, caring relationship that you missed growing up.

You will be able to connect with me, even if only thru a text or a brief call, to stay connected between sessions. It all depends on what you need.

I don't believe there is one absolute method that works for everyone.

My sessions are usually 55 minutes in length. With couples I find it best to extend our session to 90 minutes. The way I meet a couple is once together, then one session for each partner, and then back again as a couple to begin doing the work.
