Master of Science in Education, MSEdMany of Laurel’s clients feel shame, overwhelm and an ongoing sense of disconnection from life, from others, and from their authentic selves. They get through daily life by striving, and overthinking leaves them feeling exhausted and discouraged. Sometimes it’s difficult for Laurel’s clients to feel comfortable enough in their own skins to create lasting and fulfilling relationships. Laurel helps clients slow down, accept themselves and their experiences fully and learn to live life from a deep sense of self love and self trust that naturally supports happiness and connection.
Each person's challenges make sense 'in-context.' Laurel’s strengths-based approach to therapy begins with mindful awareness of patterns of thought that interfere with peace and life-balance. Through attention to the present moment, repetitive thought patterns arise and can be fully witnessed, as can the corresponding body contractions. Laurel weaves somatic approaches, mindful awareness and a person's unique strengths together to assist each client in reconnecting with the energy that lies trapped beneath negative patterns that are difficult to see on one's own. She is particularly passionate about helping clients who feel an overall sense of disconnection. Laurel has a specialization in early developmental and relational trauma and has extensive experience working with those experiencing fear and sadness during life transitions.
Laurel earned her Master’s degree from the University of Dayton and completed training in the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM). Her practice welcomes clients of all backgrounds, sexualities, and gender identities. Her goal is to help clients reach a point where they feel connected, joyful, and aligned with their inner selves, regardless of external circumstances.
