Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW Master of Social Work, MSW Clinical Social WorkerWelcome, my name is Lauren Emma (she/her) and I am a licensed clinical social worker. I recognize that it takes a tremendous amount of courage to begin therapy. Therefore, my therapeutic practice is focused on providing an empathetic and non-judgmental environment. I have worked in a variety of settings and have treated various populations such as adults, young adults, seniors, and those apart of the LGBTQIA+ community.
As a Certified Daring Way Facilitator, I utilize the Daring Way™ model in the therapeutic setting. This model is based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown and explores topics such as vulnerability, courage, shame, and worthiness. I have been trained to help clients work towards living a more wholehearted life by exploring the most authentic version of themselves. A major focus of this model is developing shame resiliency skills, self-compassion, establishing values and self-worth. Having these tools can transform the way we live, parent and love in our lives.
Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)
Depression - Providing support and promoting healing of hopelessness, low motivation and energy, sadness, irritability, sleep disturbance, and loss of interest and pleasure in life
LGBTQIA, gender, & sexuality topics - Exploring topics of sexuality, gender, and identity; coping with discrimination and oppression; navigating relationship, family, and cultural challenges
Perfectionism - Coping with feelings of anxiety, stress, self-criticism, and procrastination; addressing unrealistic expectations of one’s self and negatively comparing self to others
Women's issues - Therapy tailored to common concerns among women; providing a safe and understanding space to address life challenges, stressors, and questions around identity as a woman
Shame - Exploring how shame shows up in one’s life and the origins of this shame, especially in specific situations or environments; processing through this shame and developing an empowerment to feel less ashamed in daily life
