Professional statement

Lauren N. Perez is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Mamaroneck, New York who specializes in trauma, anxiety, and relationship concerns, including family issues. Lauren deeply enjoys helping clients improve their communication styles, grow self-confidence, and navigate their relationships – both with themselves and with others.

Lauren's practice is open to adolescents, families, couples, and individuals. She draws upon her clinical experience in traditional psychotherapy, as well as alternative approaches including hypnotherapy, spiritual connection, and intuitiveness. She is an active listener who has an expertise in mindfulness practices and teaches tools that clients can utilize in their daily lives, such as meditation and breathwork. This multifaceted approach is calibrated to help clients release themselves from suffering and trauma, so they are empowered to progress on their personal journey to wellness.

Lauren and her clients are assisted in sessions by Lauren's super cute and lovable pup, Ace. Ace is hypoallergenic and is available to offer good company, support, and comforting energy.

Lauren offers in-person sessions from her office in Mamaroneck, NY, as well as remote sessions for individuals across the state of New York. When she is not in the office, Lauren can be found doing yoga, scuba diving, and teaching her puppy new tricks.

Message to clients

Healing is the hardest, freeing soul work you will ever do. It requires you to show up for yourself, even when it's hard. It also requires a safe, non-judgmental environment that can hold your space when it is- with someone just as committed to doing the work needed to show up for you with empathy and authenticity.

This is what I can provide for you: the safety needed to liberate you from the self-limiting beliefs born from trauma and negative experiences, based on mutual willingness and agreement to show up for ourselves and one another.

We are not always responsible for what caused our trauma, but we are responsible for healing from it. When we can heal, we can create healthy relationships. Pema Chödrön lovingly states “The future is completely open, and we are writing it moment by moment.” You are powerful and capable of breaking barriers that you never imagined.

Trauma - Coping and healing after threatening or scary events, such as witnessing accidents or experiencing sexual, verbal, emotional, or physical abuse

Adolescent mental health - Working with adolescents, teenagers, and parents on social, academic, and/or emotional challenges throughout teenage years; addressing anxiety, family conflicts, peer relationships, school stress, transition to college, social media pressures, self-esteem, hopelessness about the future, emotional dysregulation

Family issues - Promoting communication and supporting family members to address challenges and reduce conflict and distress

Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)

Hypnotherapy - Utilizing a highly focused state of consciousness in which people are able to experience the world in a different way

Holistic Therapy - Holistic therapy is a type of therapy that address the “whole” person. This kind of therapy integrates spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional forms of well-being. Its goal is to help individuals develop a deeper understanding of themselves on all these levels. It uses evidence-based treatment and a holistic framework and is often tailored to the individual’s unique needs.
