Professional statement

Lauren Zeltzer is a licensed psychotherapist and creative arts therapist. Lauren sees clients across the lifespan for remote appointments. She specializes in anxiety, addiction, bereavement, depression, life transitions, trauma, and whatever prevents people from living their most fulfilling life. Lauren uses a range of evidence-based psychotherapy treatments, including Mindfulness, Psychodynamic therapy and treatment for trauma and loss, to develop an individualized plan depending on a client’s needs and goals. She is also adept at guiding clients in using art as a “power tool” (regardless of art skills) to help them reduce stress, access new insights and perspectives, and find more connection and joy in their lives.

Lauren’s approach to therapy begins with listening deeply to clients and providing a safe and non-judgmental environment. Clients have the experience of being deeply seen and heard and often leave sessions feeling calm, centered, and energized with new perspectives and solutions towards positive change in their lives.

Lauren also draws from her previous experience as a clinician at Weill Cornell Medicine, Midtown Center for Treatment and Research, an outpatient substance abuse clinic, and the consulting art therapist at Northwell Health, Phelps Memorial Hospital’s hospice program.

Lauren is committed to providing a supportive, inclusive space for all people, including those who identify as LGBTQIA and people of the global majority. She currently offers only remote therapy sessions and welcomes new clients to her online practice.

Message to clients

Welcome! It's a powerful act of self-care to seek help from a therapist. I will help you develop the tools and insight you need to access greater freedom, confidence and joy in your life and become the best version of yourself, whatever you are struggling with. Clients consistently tell me our sessions feel safe and self-affirming and that I provide a supportive space to just be themselves and express what’s important to them, without being judged. Many clients also find that using evidence-based art therapy approaches help bring them calm, shift mood, safely process feelings too big for words, and access new insights.

I love being a therapist and empowering my clients to live full, engaging lives. You are important and you deserve support. I invite you to contact me to explore if working together feels right for you.
