Professional statement

Lennard Lathan is a Licensed Professional Counselor located in Garland, TX. Lennard specializes in helping clients find the words to express their feelings when they feel especially stuck. Many of his clients arrive at therapy unsure of what they’re looking for, however they know that they’re missing something. This could be the result of a major life transition, including major losses like divorces or unemployment. Lennard is passionate about helping men with their mental health, especially those that suffer from anxiety, depression, anger management, ADHD, relationship issues, or grief.

Therapy with Lennard focuses on solutions. Clients openly talk about what’s on their mind, and Lennard helps them determine the next step towards reaching their mental health goals. He also teaches clients effective coping skills and ways to feel in control of their emotions. Clients learn the basics of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which connect thoughts, feelings, and actions. When appropriate, Lennard draws from his knowledge of Christianity to help clients with faith-based, existential, or spiritual questions. He also helps clients better understand their motivations and their readiness for change.

Lennard earned a Master’s degree from Argosy University. He has nearly 12 years of experience supporting clients through difficult times, and teaching them how to be reflective about their emotions. He enjoys seeing his clients grow their understanding of themselves and others, and benefit from closer relationships to those around them.

Message to clients

Now that you have taken the time to reach out to someone, be assured that your time with me is confidential, judgement free, and focused on what you believe is important. Your time is very important and I want you to be able to talk freely and ask questions so that you can make an informed decision on your care. Your treatment plan will be done in collaboration with me and tailored specifically to your needs. I hope that you take what you learn during our sessions and apply it to your daily life. Remember that change does not happen over night, so be patient with the process and yourself.
