Professional statement

Leslie Elwell is a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist who works with teens, adults, families and couples in San Francisco and virtually.

Leslie specializes in trauma, relationship issues and life transitions. Leslie’s approach emphasizes the importance of a genuine relationship between client and therapist. Her goal is to offer support for the exploration of significant life questions, such as ‘how can I express who I really am?’ and ‘how can I build fulfilling and nourishing relationships?’ Leslie believes that to build the life we really want we need to increase self-awareness so that we have the freedom to choose, rather than merely react in a familiar way.

Leslie has worked with individuals and families in the domestic violence field for 6 years and has received training in Gestalt therapy, EMDR and DBT.
