Master Addiction Counselor - also offered by NAADAC, MAC Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor, LPC-S Doctor of Psychology, PsyDDr. Lezlee Henry-Dupoux is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, certified life coach, and organizational psychologist. She has over 20 years working with individuals, couples, and families across all ages and specializes in treating addictions, PTSD, and trauma-related symptoms. Dr. Henry-Dupoux has over 5 years of experience helping active military, veterans, and first responders, as well as those who suffer from high levels of stress and emotional fatigue. Many of Dr. Henry-Dupoux’s clients struggle in their relationships, whether that’s because of past relationship trauma, drug addictions, or because of other mental health struggles. They find themselves constantly scared of abandonment and seek healthy ways to connect with those around them.
Dr. Henry-Dupoux’s approach to therapy is trauma-informed, as she strives to create a safe, trusting atmosphere in all of her sessions. She does this so clients feel comfortable talking openly about their feelings without judgment. She never pushes clients to talk about memories or experiences that they don’t feel comfortable disclosing. Clients go through Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, which uses the brain’s natural functions to consolidate the client’s difficult memories into the past. This leaves clients feeling more comfortable in the present, recognizing that they’re no longer in danger, which can decrease risky behaviors like drug use. Dr. Henry-Dupoux also uses therapy modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Clients learn how to practice effective coping skills in moments of stress or heightened emotion. They also learn about attachment theory and other helpful psychological concepts about relationships.
Dr. Henry-Dupoux earned a PsyD in Organizational Leadership. She also holds Master’s degrees in Social Work and Addiction Counseling. She is a life coach, helping clients set and reach goals in their personal and professional lives.
