Professional statement

Linda Dorsey is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Culver City, CA. Linda’s practice generally treats individuals who feel stuck in their lives - whether that’s stuck in making a decision, stuck on a career path that doesn’t bring them joy, stuck in a sadness they can’t shake, or stuck in their romantic relationship. She works with clients - individuals and couples - in a non-judgemental environment to determine how past experiences inform present moods and how to move forward.

Before beginning to process through trauma, Linda teaches her clients coping skills and techniques to regulate emotions. To support those with anxiety, depression, or burnout, Linda brings a trauma-informed approach to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a therapy style that draws an explicit connection between thoughts, feelings, and behavior. For example, she might ask a client to detail out the negative self talk that leads to feeling sad.

Linda earned her Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapist from Cal State University - Dominguez Hills. She enjoys working with individuals and couples as they steer their lives back on-track towards happiness. Linda believes in empowering clients to take control of their narratives, bringing a greater sense of emotional well-being to all.

Message to clients

We all embark on the journey of life at the same starting point. We all travel down the road before us, trying to carve out a path that will lead us to the kind of life that will bring us joy, peace, and happiness. However, there are times when that path leads us off the course of happiness and fulfillment, and into some dark corners where we become stuck.

Whether you’re stuck in the woods of depression, anxiety, or any other less-than-ideal detour, it is possible to get out of the dark places and back into the bright light of life. As a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist, I work with individuals, families, and couples to overcome obstacles that they encounter on the path of life.
