Professional statement

Linette Wilson has a certification in Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) and is also a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Linette has over 20 years in the field of metal health beginning her career as a mental health therapy aide in Queens, NY. Four years after Linette transferred to a Bronx mental health hospital to work with a diverse population of individuals with a wide variety of needs.

During Linette's pursuit of her Masters Degree she began interning in a private practice where the passion for couple's work began. While in school the introduction of many therapeutic models was presented however, the models that stuck the most were Collaborative and Narrative therapy. Linette takes an approach of assisting the client with seeing the potential and being able to bring that forth during the development and consistency of therapy. Linette works hard to allow the client to take the blame off of them selves and instead approach the issues from a curious mindset. Linette strongly believes working with clients to get past the negative self talk is the first step in building genuine relationships that start with ourselves.

Linette has a passion for dismissing the stigmas that vulnerability is a weakness and instead works with her clients to embrace the strength in vulnerability. Concentration on emotional intelligence is an area Linette has specialized in doing couples/family therapy. One of Linette's quotes are "eggs have a hard shell and soft yolk!" In this statement Linette believes humans are born vulnerable and through circumstance they become hard. Linette has dedicated her time to cracking eggs to allow the softer part of You to come forth.

Message to clients

The mind and body connection is underrated! My holistic approach centers around the importance of understanding the need for both components to be in sync. I obtained my Yoga certification to incorporate some of the techniques to my therapy practice. The way we view ourselves or our circumstances has a major impact on the conditions of our mind and body.

Therapy with me will be a unique experience. During our time together the focus is on your individual need in that moment. There is no one size fits all! My objective is to bring out the most authentic version of YOU. I provide a safe non-judgmental therapeutic space to allow you to feel comfortable. Therapy for most is not easy, and before we begin let me say I admire the steps you are taking to break cycles or make changes for you, your partner, or your family. My intentions for you are to have FREEDOM and let it FLOW!
