Many of her clients have shown improvement in their personal and professional lives using skills learned in counseling to shift their thinking and create new experiences. Lisa is supportive of her clients as they address their concerns and gain confidence in their ability to overcome their challenges and reduce the effects on their daily lives.
Lisa’s approach is based on Cognitive Behavioral therapy, an evidence- based approach that focuses on helping clients understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are related so they can make changes in their lives. She collaborates with clients to identify triggers, appropriate coping skills, and changes in thinking to help clients reframe their responses to life experiences.
Lisa uses humor, genuineness, and empathy to build a safe, non-judgmental space for her clients to share their daily experiences. She meets the client where they are and encourages open and honest communication in the counseling relationship. Together, Lisa and the client explore values, emotions, and relationships to identify areas where the client may need changes to create more positive outcomes.
