Professional statement

Lisa Cameron is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) based in West Chester, PA. While having over 15 years of experience with therapy in various nonprofit settings, Lisa took a big leap and opened a telehealth private practice during the pandemic in 2020. It has been one of the best decisions. Ever.

Clients tend to find Lisa when they are considering a leap of their own: they have realized that a significant life shift is necessary, in work, relationships, or other areas of life, and they are looking for a place to land that feels safe and encouraging and where they feel heard. Clients are self aware and they are curious and committed to unpacking and processing past traumas that currently have an impact on daily life. People of color and those from the LGBTQIA+ communities find comfort in the inclusive space that Lisa has created online.

Lisa's therapeutic approach is grounded in social justice, trauma, and cognitive behavioral therapy. She helps clients find connections between thought, behavior, and emotion so they are better equipped for making that necessary life shift toward authenticity, truth, and positive mental health. Clients tend to be young working professionals, those in graduate school or another form of advanced study, and older adults who have realized that change is necessary and needed.

Message to clients

It's not lost on me the big step it takes to realize that therapy may be needed in your life right now. As you look through profiles, I hope you find what (and who) you're looking for.

We have all experienced some form of trauma and we have been changed by it. In my work, I help folks question and process thoughts and ideas that have been needing an answer. I hold space for that. My hope is that you will find me to be supportive and encouraging, able to hold you accountable to yourself and your dreams, and also to offer perspectives and questions that help you reach a place of authenticity, joy, and contentment. Our collaboration and commitment to this process is what will help us even more.

I believe that thought, emotion, and behavior are connected and that's my focus. An additional piece of therapy is this idea of intimacy and where it belongs - or where we want it to belong - in our relationships and our lives.

Big leaps are necessary. They are needed, And they are so worth it. Good on you for taking this first leap and realizing that something needs to shift in your life.
