Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, LICSW Master of Social Work, MSW Practice: JRD CounselingLisa Granda received her Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from Boston College and is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. She has extensive experience working with children, adults and families. Lisa has over 30 years of clinical experience working in a variety of settings including non-profit organizations and hospitals. She has a special interest in child and adolescent mental health but also works with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, emotional regulation issues and trauma.
Lisa’s approach to treatment is caring, compassionate, strength focused and non-judgemental. She utilizes a combination of frameworks including, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy and Mindfulness Practices to help support her clients in their healing journey with a focus on improved health and well-being. All services are provided through a trauma-informed lens.
Lisa is also a 200-hour certified yoga teacher with additional certifications in Breathwork and Meditation. She is a long time practitioner of the practice and enjoys incorporating mindfulness practices in treatment.
Lisa works at JRD Counseling and offers in-person appointments at their Providence office, as well as telehealth appointments. Lisa schedules appointments Monday through Thursday.
Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)
Depression - Providing support and promoting healing of hopelessness, low motivation and energy, sadness, irritability, sleep disturbance, and loss of interest and pleasure in life
Adolescent mental health - Working with adolescents, teenagers, and parents on social, academic, and/or emotional challenges throughout teenage years; addressing anxiety, family conflicts, peer relationships, school stress, transition to college, social media pressures, self-esteem, hopelessness about the future, emotional disregulation
Child mental health - Specialized strategies for common childhood disorders including attention issues, attachment problems, behavioral disorders, learning disorders, autism spectrum diagnoses, and feeding or elimination issues.
College & graduate student mental health - Specialized strategies for common issues of young adulthood, including school and career stressors, support around healthy relationships, existential concerns, drug or alcohol issues, eating disorders, and anxiety and/or depression.
Trauma - Coping and healing after threatening or scary events, such as witnessing accidents or experiencing sexual, verbal, emotional, or physical abuse
