Professional statement

Lizelle Cline has been a social worker since 1991 and is currently self employed as a therapist to indiviudals from late teen years. She offers an eclectic approach that is evidence based and utilises primarily Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as well as Self Compassion and Somatic approaches.

Lizelle was born and raised in England where she earnt a BSW at Lancaster Univeristy, and later completed graduate studies at University of Leicester. Lizelle began her career in England as a Child Welfare Worker and emigrated to California in 2002 where she has had a rich and varied career. Lizelle has worked in Treatment Foster Care, as an Adjunct Proffessor at Cal State East Bay MSW Department, at California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, as well as two hosptials in the Intensive Outpatient Clinics and Inpatient Facilities.

Since 2008 Lizelle has gravitated towards offering individual therapy and now does this exclusively online. She has found that the ease of access has been benifical for people who might otherwise not seek services.

Message to clients

It is thrilling to be part of a world in which Mental or Behavioral Health is finally getting support from people outside the profession! Entering therapy, for the first or subsequent times can be a gift you offer to yourself to improve your overall health and capacity. Its a sign of strength to ask for help! Even the best life can offer up challenges that tax your capacity and resources to manage.

I bring to our collaboration humility, humor, a wealth of diverse experience, as you do. Between us, we can create a safe place in which you can explore your choices and learn new skills to manage challenging issues. I offer a compassionate approach to growth, and can support you on your chosen path.

I work well with young adults, also men, and those who are going through transitions. I am an ally of LGBTQ community. I am known to be pragmatic, collaborative with clients on setting agendas, finding lessons that can be learnt. I encourage goal setting to evaluate how progress is being made and we will both know when you are ready to graduate services. I offer a compassionate approach to growth, and can support you on your chosen path.
