Professional statement

Loren Belforti is a Boston-based Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker providing tele-therapy for your safety and convenience during this time.

Loren’s experience is primarily related to working with members of the LGBTQIA+ community who struggle with depression, anxiety, gender identity, sexuality, relationships, and other emotional issues.

Prior to entering private practice, Loren gained experience in hospitals and outpatient treatment centers working with individuals and groups. Currently, she works with college students as they navigate life transitions and develop their self-identity.

Loren uses an integrative approach that combines skills from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), as well as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Loren emphasizes a strong focus on the mind-body connection in her practice and is passionate about physical health as it relates to mental wellbeing. Loren’s approach to the therapeutic process can be described as creative, down-to-earth, and collaborative.

Message to clients

I am here to help you set intentions and achieve your goals. I believe in working with people rather than treating symptoms, which is why my therapeutic style is holistic and specifically tailored to meet your needs. It can be difficult to trust someone with your innermost self; and I applaud you for taking that first step towards vulnerability. My hope is that our sessions become a place of safety, bravery, awareness, and change. Welcome to your first step towards growth, this is an exciting time.
