Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFTShe/Her/Hers
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFTLuanne Hernandez is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist located in Pasadena, CA. Luanne is passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families grow their relationships. She works mainly with couples, including couples who are parents. Many of Luanne’s clients were majorly impacted by the pandemic, whether their relationships began to present challenges or their children suffered from the isolation. They seek ways to effectively manage difficult emotions in healthy ways, and to repair the bonds that were strained during this time period.
Luanne teaches clients how to effectively communicate their feelings, which begins with emotion identification. She encourages clients to speak about what’s happening for them, and gently offers different perspectives from which to view their situations. She also teaches clients about how their attachments from early in their lives might impact their current relationships, including with romantic partners and with their children. She uses The Gottman Method to help couples manage conflict, which helps them focus themselves around empathy and healthy communication.
Luanne earned a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University. She has over ten years of experience working with children, adults, and families across diverse settings, including community mental health and private practice. She is a Gottman Method Level 3 Trained Therapist and a Child Parent Psychotherapy Fellow through the Child Trauma Training Institute.
