Professional statement

Mao Beckett LCSW, LICSW provides liberation-oriented mental health care as a millennial therapist, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) trained, a first generation American, and child of Cambodian immigrants and refugees. She helps first-generation, liberation-seeking millennials overcome stuckness to unapologetically reclaim their life from stress and external noise.

As an inclusive therapist striving to decolonize mental health care and healing, she incorporates an ethical framework of psychotherapy, spiritual and healing of the mind, community, body, and spirit. She is independently licensed to practice therapy in Massachusetts, Guam, and Hawai'i.

Her lived experience as a first generation American, mother, military veteran and spouse, alongside her formal education, training, and clinical knowledge allows her to support and guide you in a meaningful way where you feel validated and heard. In her practice, your voice is priority and you are the expert of your life and experiences. Her role is to hold a non-judgmental space and encourage insight and self-awareness to promote optimal healing.
