Professional statement

Marcia Williams is a licensed therapist with over 21 years of experience, holding a master’s degree in counseling psychology. She has worked at United Healthcare for 17 years as a manager of a prior-authorization team, focusing on behavioral health services for high levels of care such as residential treatment and inpatient hospitalization.

As the founder and CEO of Hidden Flames, LLC, Marcia offers therapeutic services through her private practice, providing individual, couples, and group therapy. Her approach combines warmth and humor, offering clients validation and motivation for change while teaching self-exploration and coping skills to navigate toxic relationships and heal from trauma.

Marcia is also the creator of the Pathways to Peace Narcissistic Abuse Transformation Program, designed to help survivors of narcissistic abuse find and protect their peace. She draws from personal experience, having been married to a narcissist for 30 years before her divorce, and is the author of "Groomed: Life Married to a Narcissist and How I Overcame Narcissistic Abuse."

In addition to her therapeutic practice, Marcia co-facilitates the "Write to Heal" retreat, empowering women to use writing as a form of healing from trauma. She is also a guest on various podcasts, where she shares her expertise on narcissism and its impact. Based in Maryland, she is the proud mother of three adult children, aged 23, 25, and 30.
