Professional statement

Margaret M. Meyer has been practicing as a psychotherapist in Denver for over 10 years. She specializes in treating high achieving adults in early and middle adulthood who are suffering from mild to severe anxiety, mood disorders, food/weight issues and/or problematic drinking. Patients also frequently come in because they are struggling to cope with the end of a relationship or feeling stuck in a particular area of their life.

As both a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Certified Holistic Health Coach (CHHC), her counseling practice offers an innovative approach to treatment, one that views mind and body as inherently intertwined. Because discomfort in one's body is often connected to emotional distress, Margaret draws upon principles of psychology, nutrition and medicine in order for you to develop greater wellness, both inside and out. She believes that when individuals become aware of what is driving the unbalanced emotional and physical state, a positive shift can start to occur.

Margaret offers both in person and telehealth sessions throughout the week with later evening appointments on Mondays and Wednesdays. Her office suite has its own private waiting room.

Message to clients

Life is messy and It takes a lot of courage to reach out to a stranger and ask for help. My practice is guided by the principle of authenticity and a conviction that we are empowered by embracing our vulnerabilities and struggles rather than editing them out. Let's work together to figure out what's driving your state of distress and face it head on instead of hoping it will just go away. My only rule in therapy is for you to show up uncensored.

Trying to find the right therapist can be an overwhelming and stressful experience. We would start with a phone consultation in order for me to gain a better understanding of what has led you to seek therapy at this time as well as give you a chance to ask me questions. I am mindful to only move forward with patients whom I believe I can help based on my training and experience.

I've opted to limit my contracts with insurance in order to provide the highest quality of care. I strongly believe that the process of psychotherapy is compromised when corporate profits supersede patient needs (limited sessions, time intensive and overly burdensome records review, etc).
