Professional statement

Marianne Ferguson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker located in Brooklyn, NY and Jersey City, NJ. Marianne works with a diverse range of adults of all ages. She supports those struggling with anxiety and/or depression and helps clients understand how they may be getting in their own way of growth and healing. Many of Mariannes’ clients feel stuck, whether that’s stuck in a career path or stuck in a pattern of behaviors that they don’t fully understand. These clients can also experience loneliness and feel overwhelmed by their lives, as if they’re waiting for something to come along and get better.

Through compassion and empathy, Marianne meets clients where they are at in their journey and helps guide them with her insight and support. Marianne encourages clients to reflect on how their emotions may be impacting their patterns and offers new perspectives to make changes for the better. Clients also benefit from deep introspection, and Marianne guides them through psychodynamic therapy to get to know their inner selves. By providing tools such as mindfulness techniques, clients develop self awareness that they can apply to situations outside of therapy such as work, other social settings, and moments of heightened stress.

Marianne earned a Master’s degree in Social Work from Fordham University. She comes to therapy with over a decade experience in the financial services sector, and uses this experience in her work with clients to understand how these systems can impact their mental health.
