Professional statement

Marima Hernandez is a Licensed Professional Counselor with an online private practice in Texas. Some of the concerns Marima’s clients are dealing with might include past trauma, anxiety, lack of self-esteem, relationship problems, and insecurity. Conditions such as these can affect the clients' day-to-day lives and relationships. Marima is particularly passionate about serving clients with past traumatic life experiences. She has experience in the area of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and helping individuals move forward in a healthy and productive manner.

Marima is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), which uses bilateral stimulation to desensitize reactions/responses from past trauma. Many of Marima’s clients have suffered trauma from a single incident, repeated/prolonged abuse, or multiple events that are often interpersonal in nature. Individuals working with Marima will be supported and empowered to live their best life with personal treatment plans, coping skills specific to their needs, and mindfulness.

Marima’s counseling style is non-judgmental, relaxed, and interactive. Her experience is centered in working with individuals in out-patient clinics, in-patient facilities, within the educational setting, and private practice. Marima is a telehealth provider which allows clients the freedom and flexibility to have therapy sessions from the comfort of their home.

Message to clients

Taking that step in reaching out for help takes courage and a desire to change. We can work together to manage your concerns or simply take your session time to just vent.

My non-judgmental demeaner allows clients to feel comfortable enough to open up and explore solutions that will be most beneficial in your day-to-day life.

Before your first session I will use your email to send you information to login to your personal Client Portal. In the Client Portal you will have access to all the necessary documents I will need. After you have completed them, we can schedule your first session.

All sessions are via telehealth and no insurances are accepted. My hours are Monday - Thursday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and Fridays 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

I look forward to working with you.
