Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFTMark Galyean is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist located in San Pedro, CA. Mark is passionate about helping clients of all backgrounds, situations, and identities. Many of his clients are single parents who feel burnt out trying to find balance, men who struggle with the pressures of masculinity, those who have a hard time managing emotions like anger, and individuals who suffer from substance abuse issues.
Mark utilized many different evidence-based therapy modalities in his work with clients. Clients learn how to make healthy thought patterns habitual through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). They also reflect on their current relationships and their past relationships with the support of Mark, who encourages them to make connections between the two. Mark assesses clients’ readiness for change and helps them make healthy changes in their daily lives. Clients can express their thoughts, feelings, and emotions in the comfort of a safe therapeutic space without fear of judgment.
Mark earned a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Antioch University. He also holds a JD from Western State University and previously practiced Family Law and Criminal Defense. He has an extensive history supporting individuals and families through difficult times and empowering them to make change towards a balanced life.
