Professional statement

Dr. Mark Mellinger is a Licensed Psychologist with offices on Manhattan’s Upper West Side and in Westchester county. He works with individuals and couples of all ages, helping them to navigate the challenges of anxiety, depression, and relationship difficulties. Dr. Mellinger has particular expertise in supporting creative professionals, including actors, writers, and artists, as well as adults in midlife and beyond.

Dr. Mellinger especially enjoys working with clients who are struggling to find a meaningful work/life balance. He supports individuals to engage with their passions outside of work, reconnect with creative ambitions, set healthy boundaries, and strengthen relationships, while also managing daily stressors and pursuing career goals.

Dr. Mellinger also welcomes couples to his practice. Looking closely at how the family of origin impacts each individual’s ability to connect, he supports couples to overcome communication challenges and remember why they fell in love with each other in the first place.

A seasoned psychologist, Dr. Mellinger has advanced training in Relational Psychoanalysis. He takes an active and engaged approach to examining how early life experiences impact emotional patterns and challenges in the present. Dr. Mellinger takes a highly individualized approach, tailoring treatment to each client’s needs and goals.

Dr. Mellinger believes that everyone deserves to live a balanced and meaningful life, both professionally and personally. He looks forward to meeting you at his UWS office, accessible from the 96th Street subway station, or in Hastings on Hudson.
