Professional statement

Marlon Martin is a therapist in Pearland Texas area where he has worked with individuals and couples for the last 29 years. Many of Marlon’s clients seek assistance in addressing problems with anxiety, and depression, gaining self-esteem, overcoming substance abuse, and mental health. Marlon is particularly passionate about serving those who feel that they are not getting the most out of their lives, regardless of the obstacle. He also has advanced training in substance use disorder and co-occurring disorders.

Marlon is trained in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), gestalt therapy, and the client center approach, where through establishing a therapeutic relationship, assists his clients in identifying their internal strengths, which causes a greater understanding of themselves and assists his clients in gaining the tools needed to overcome any obstacle they may face. In the session, Marlon uses therapeutic approaches such as gestalt therapy to assist the client in connecting with themselves on a more intimate level. These approaches support the clients in gaining a greater sense of self and connection to their purpose as they move forward in their journey through life.

Marlon's style is welcoming, relatable, and purpose-driven. When clients first start therapy, he takes time to understand the client's needs, spoken and unspoken, while establishing a relationship with the client that promotes trust and safety.

Marlon received a Master of Science from Springfield College in 2017. He worked for The Fort Bend Council located in Stafford, Tx for 14 years as a clinician and later took a position as clinical director over the Stafford and Rosenburg offices. Outside of private practice, Marlon enjoys sports photography for local youth and high school football and track clubs. Marlon offers in-person and telehealth therapy sessions.
