Professional statement

Marni Goldberg is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) with a variety of professional Counseling experience and a continual desire to learn and grow professionally. She works mainly with teenagers and young adults, but is certainly open to younger and older populations, as long as the fit is right. Marni enjoys the art and science of Counseling- utilizing evidence based practices along with gut instincts that help her to individualize treatment to each client and circumstance. She is especially helpful with those suffering from anxiety or discovering their highly sensitive nature, but she also has success with those dealing with mild depression, going through difficult life transitions, losses, and wanting to improve communication skills or relationship dynamics. Helping clients to live more mindfully and “get out of their heads” is a particular passion of Marni’s.

Marni is located in Pacific Beach in San Diego, California, but is currently only providing online therapy due to Covid. She plans to return to in-person services but will wait until it’s safe to do so. Marni also enjoys providing group therapy and will resume those services when the time is right. Her current schedule is Sundays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from about 11 am- 6 pm.

Message to clients

It’s an honor for me to be able to assist my clients in getting the support, compassion, validation, skills, and understanding that they seek. I seem to be most successful with those clients who feel ready to be compassionately challenged and experience growth and an improvement in their quality of life (satisfaction can’t be guaranteed, but we’ll do our best, together!). Clients often present with qualities of perfectionism, over-thinking, feeling deeply, and worrying a lot, but those issues certainly aren’t required to work with me!

I have a personal understanding of some of your struggles, and offer a non-judgemental space with an open mind, even when I can’t personally relate. My 20 years of professional experience have prepared me well to offer you the help and support that you need, and my intuition helps to guide me in the process of working together. Mindfulness has become a cornerstone of my practice, as well as the way I try to move through the world myself (but no one’s perfect and I don’t always get it right, either). In case you haven’t noticed, I pride myself on being genuine and see us as partners in the journey of healing, rather than me being the “expert” with all the answers. I hope to assist you in reaching your goals or delving into the difficult stuff in your life.

Please call or preferably email to set up a phone consultation.
