Marquita Mansfield is a Licensed Professional Counselor located in Oxford, AL. Marquita supports clients as they navigate anxiety, depression, family conflicts, low self-esteem, and stress. She brings together Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness practices to teach clients how to grow their self-awareness. This self-awareness is especially helpful when it comes to examining thought patterns. Certain thought patterns, Marquita teaches, can lead to difficult emotions and low self-worth. This includes cognitive distortions or negative self-talk. Clients learn how to use grounding exercises and to slow down their thoughts, especially judgments. This can be helpful in moments of distress, as well as during conflicts with others.
Marquita earned a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Jacksonville State University. She has experience working with both children and adults, as well as couples. Her goal is to help clients feel like themselves and live comfortable lives that are free from mental health symptoms.
