Matthew Jarvis is a licensed professional counselor and licensed addiction counselor in the Denver Colorado area. Matthew works with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD as well as addiction and relationship problems. Many of Matthew‘s clients seek counseling services once they feel need of additional help beyond their social circle, from a neutral third-party. Matthew, who is particularly passionate about serving young adults from diverse populations, also has advanced training in EMDR, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and as mindfulness based therapies.
Matthew believes strongly that therapeutic rapport is foundational in the successful implementation of each client’s individualized treatment plan. His person-centered approach is supported by 19 years of experience.
Matthew’s style is relationship-based, as he believes that a therapeutic process built on client trust is the path to progress and best outcomes. As the client begins to work with Matthew, he will be reflective and attuned to your story, gaining an understanding of your goals to develop a plan. Matthew is dedicated to providing a relationship that is safe, effective and non-judgmental.
Matthew received his master’s degrees in Adult Training and Education as well as Clinical Psychology making him uniquely qualified to work in this capacity. Matthew has many years of experience working in various settings over the last 20 years including, outpatient care clinics, individual private practice and specialty care clinics. Matthew’s strength is working with co-occurring disorders. He served as the clinical director at a well-known hospital in Denver for several years overseeing client presenting with complex conditions.
Matthew is a Colorado native and enjoys spending his free time with his dogs, his partner, enjoying the outdoors, staying physically active and cooking and eating healthy foods. He is also loves the Denver Broncos and is a huge Star Wars nerd!
