Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFTMaya Druckmann is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in West Los Angeles. She works with sensitive adults dealing with anxiety and depression with a focus on parental mental health. People come in to work with Maya when they are interested in self-reflection, better understanding of self, and improved relationships with others in their family, personal or professional life. Maya is passionate about helping caregivers recover from burnout and supporting people of diverse life-styles move toward healthier family dynamics.
With a collaborative and non-pathologizing approach Maya builds a therapeutic relationship in which clients feel safe in being challenged and exploring the uncomfortable feelings that inevitably come up on the road to healing and growth. Clients learn to better understand and communicate their feelings, manage stress, and accept who they are so they can show up more authentically in their life.
Maya received her Master’s in Clinical Psychology at Pepperdine University and gained training and experience in a variety of community mental health and school settings. Drawing on attachment theory, systemic thinking, self-compassion and parts work Maya helps her clients move towards the life and relationships they want.
Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)
Family issues - Promoting communication and supporting family members to address challenges and reduce conflict and distress
Parenting - Helping parents develop and implement strategies to address challenges that arise throughout childrearing; managing stress and increasing support
Stress management - Strengthening effective ways of coping with the stress of life and change; managing expectations of self and others
Burnout - Managing and recovering from stressors that lead to feelings of decreased motivation and disconnection from the self; practicing effective self-care and finding ways to relax both physically and mentally
Sensitivity - Developing an understanding of one’s sensitivity, including exploring what triggers emotional reactions and the origins of the sensitivity; practicing self-compassion by acknowledging that everyone has emotions and it’s natural to react to what’s around you
