Professional statement

Meg Duke is a Licensed Psychotherapist and LCSW Supervisor in Kansas, Missouri, Indiana, Texas, Iowa, New Mexico, Florida. Many of Meg’s clients come in to address maternal mental health, anxiety, depression, and adjustment issues. Meg is particularly passionate about serving individuals in the reproductive years. She also has advanced training in the area of postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, and adjustment disorders.

Meg utilizes solution focused brief therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing, as appropriate for the individual client. Often, Meg will work with clients to examine thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors, understand what is or isn't working, and shift them to healthier habits. Solution-focused therapy is an evidence-based therapeutic approach, which incorporates positive psychology principles and practices and helps clients change by constructing solutions rather than focusing on problems.

In session, Meg focuses on the client's goals, coming alongside them as the client serves as the expert in their own life. This approach supports clients to feel more relaxed and present, able to make decisions that are more aligned with their values, and feel more confident in advocating for and communicating about their needs.

Meg's style is non-judgmental, solution-focused, with a sense of humor. When clients first start therapy, Meg and the client will establish a strong relationship and comfortable environment where they feel safe and heard to focus on their personal goals.

Meg has experience working in psychotherapy alongside youth, adults and families; interdisciplinary collaboration with behavioral and medical health professionals; and in hospital, community health clinic, school youth & family center, foster care, and private practice settings.

Outside of private practice, she enjoys crafting and sewing, as well as rock climbing and playing soccer with her family.

Meg offers virtual sessions to aid in accessibility and convenience for her clients.
