Professional statement

Megan Reardon is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who specializes in family systems, child and adolescent therapy, perinatal mental health, marriage and relationships and individuals navigating complex family systems.

Megan's practice, Teaghlach Counseling, is located in down town Castle Rock, CO. Teaghlach means "family" in Irish Gaelic and family perfectly exemplifies the focus of Megan's practice, recognizing that there is no "normal" when it comes to family systems. In utilizing a variety of techniques and approaches which include but are not limited to Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), the Neurosequential Model (NMT), the Gottman method, and play therapy techniques, Megan aims to support children, adolescents, adults and families in a holistic way.

Megan has extensive experience working with children and families who are coping with a variety of issues including domestic violence, substance abuse, mental health diagnosis and reunification. After moving from community mental health, Megan became licensed as a school social worker, supporting children with needs ranging from emotion regulation, ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder. This role also demonstrated the need for an increase in family involvement in supporting children and adolescents in their mental health. Megan is also proud of her time as a first responder (911 dispatcher) which gives her the insight to understand the unique challenges faced by first responders in their professional and personal lives.

Message to clients

It is truly a privilege to work alongside children, adolescents, adults and families in their journey towards resiliency. My goal is to support you in strengthening your family, whether that is through support in emotion regulation for your child or teen, or developing communication skills with your partner. It is also incredibly important to recognize that while family can be such an empowering system, it too can be the source of anxiety or trauma. Whatever you find to be the case, I look forward to the opportunity to support you as your family (whatever that may look like) grows in resiliency.
