Meghan enjoys working with clients of all ages, life stages, and situations. She is particularly passionate about helping clients who are pursuing trauma healing, stress reduction, and deeper connections to themselves and others. Meghan helps clients find the path towards living the life they want to live, without their mental health holding them back.
Meghan’s approach to therapy draws from a systems perspective, meaning that Meghan looks at each client’s situation against their current and past environments. She teaches clients elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), including how to ignore harmful cognitive distortions like judgments, assumptions, or projections. She incorporates elements of coaching, which means that clients set goals for themselves and Meghan helps them reach those goals. When appropriate, Meghan offers spiritual guidance to help clients better understand their lives through a faith lens, including processing through their various relationships and roles.
Meghan earned a Master’s degree from Columbia International University. She has extensive experience working with children and over 10 years of experience supporting clients across a wide range of settings. She enjoys empowering clients to increase their emotional intelligence and reach their mental health goals.
Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)
Depression - Providing support and promoting healing of hopelessness, low motivation and energy, sadness, irritability, sleep disturbance, and loss of interest and pleasure in life
Relationship issues - Understanding one’s wants and needs in relationships; exploring patterns of interaction, addressing concerns, and strengthening satisfaction in relationships and dating
Trauma - Coping and healing after threatening or scary events, such as witnessing accidents or experiencing sexual, verbal, emotional, or physical abuse
Emotion regulation - Learning how to effectively manage the ups and downs of intense emotions; developing coping skills to use in a variety of settings to calm oneself and to give an appropriate amount of space to emotions
Mind-body connection - Practicing mindfulness to draw together how the body feels physically and how the mind feels mentally; healing both physically and mentally
