Meira Cohen-Hansford is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Tribeca, New York City who works with young adults and adults to mindfully navigate the challenges of depression, anxiety, relationships, and trauma recovery. As a seasoned practitioner of mindfulness and yoga, Meira helps clients to build a meditative practice, or simply learn to reconnect to the breath and body. By making space for the physical experience alongside exploration of the emotional world, Meira is able to help clients manifest deep and lasting change.
Many of Meira’s clients come in around moments of transition, when old feelings of self-doubt, guilt, and unworthiness may re-emerge. She takes a collaborative approach to help ground clients in the present, guiding them beyond deeply rooted emotional challenges at a comfortable pace. Meira also has a special interest in mental health during pregnancy and postpartum, and facilitates a support group for mothers of young children.
Meira readily adapts her style to suit each individual client. Her approach is holistic and integrative, drawing from insight-oriented and skills-based approaches, as well as breathwork, mindfulness, and other experiential practices.
Meira takes special care in developing an open, supportive relationship with each client, offering action-oriented feedback to promote positive change. She welcomes new clients to her Tribeca office, which is easily accessible by the 1/2/3/A/C trains from Chambers Street, or the R/W from City Hall.
