Melissa Jardin is a licensed marriage and family therapist with an office in Union Square, New York. She works with individuals and couples, specializing in issues around grief, loss of a parent, stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, sexuality, infidelity, self-esteem and relationship dissatisfaction. She also has experience working with the LGBTQ+ community, as well as people in, or considering, poly relationships.

Melissa is resource-focused and is dedicated to making her clients feel empowered by presenting them with their choices and encouraging their autonomy. In session, she is open-minded and supportive. She utilizes eclectic treatment methods, including Gestalt Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness practices, and Somatic Psychotherapy.

Melissa’s style is active, playful, and humorous. She believes all of her clients deserve to find happiness and fulfillment. She received her Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from John F. Kennedy University. Her office is located near the 14 Street - Union Sq. subway station.

Therapy can be a place to define challenges, discover strengths, and find validation for your unique self. I have experience working with individuals and couples with themes including grief, loss, stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, sexuality, infidelity, self esteem, and communication.
Making changes or getting through transitions can be hard; with an open-minded perspective I can meet you in this place. I offer a holistic approach, focusing on resources. I offer support in creating a deeper understanding of your interpersonal world, which can lead to feeling more satisfaction in relationships with self and others.
Whatever brings you to move towards this process, I offer to meet you with compassion, creativity, humor, and respect.


Loss and grief - Emotionally preparing for the anticipated passing of a loved one; managing feelings and reactions to a death or loss of significance; support during the process of healing and acceptance

Relationships - Understanding one’s wants and needs in relationships; exploring patterns of interaction, addressing concerns, and strengthening satisfaction in relationships and dating

Couples counseling - Addressing relationship challenges and life transitions; strengthening communication and feelings of security, desire, connection, and love

Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)
