Professional statement

Melody is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Therapist who serves individuals aged 18+ in the picturesque state of North Carolina. She is dedicated to supporting those struggling with eating disorders, disordered eating behaviors, body image concerns, anxiety, and life transitions. Melody deeply understands that feeling whole can seem like an unattainable dream for many clients, especially when self-worth and happiness are tied to external expectations and appearances. She is also sensitive to the tendency to bury pain in destructive habits, further distancing us from our true selves and leaving us adrift in a sea of uncertainty and doubt.

Melody completed her Master’s degree from Wake Forest University and is a National Certified Counselor, Registered Yoga Instructor, Mindfulness-Based Eating Qualified Instructor, and Certified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Practitioner. She has also completed the core course requirements from the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals to become a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS). Using evidence-based treatment modalities such as acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and mindfulness techniques, Melody tailors a personalized approach to ensure her clients feel valued and understood as their individual circumstances and challenges are considered. She is dedicated to helping her clients scratch below the surface to explore how many intersecting factors impact their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Through this unique lens, Melody guides her clients in developing practical solutions and evidence-based skills to help restore mental and physical well-being.

Melody is invested in fostering a safe and accepting therapeutic environment where she empowers those she works with to develop healthy coping strategies, cultivate self-worth, and embark on their healing journey. By offering virtual therapy, she aims to provide a convenient and comfortable space for her clients to engage in transformative work.

Message to clients

My approach to therapy is rooted in the belief that you deserve the opportunity to prioritize your mental health and well-being, regardless of where you are in your life journey. From my journey to becoming, I believe no one knows You better than You. I believe the climb is Yours. I believe the strength and power to put one foot in front of the other rests in You. I believe You have a unique capacity to heal, grow, and transform.

I understand it is easy to feel lost amid an internal battle, trapped in cycles that seem impossible to break. These cycles may manifest in ways that isolate you from others, intensify feelings of anxiety, and foster a sense of despair and powerlessness. However, embracing self-awareness and committing to your personal growth journey can pave the way towards feeling whole again. Though challenging, taking ownership of your healing process can bring about profound transformation and lead you toward empowerment and self-discovery.

I am fully committed to walking alongside you every step of the way. My passion is to help inspire, support, and empower you on your journey to self-discovery. If you are ready to embrace a path toward healing and personal evolution, let’s take the first step together toward your brighter tomorrow!
