Mema Mansouri is a psychotherapist and ADHD Certified Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP) in Back Bay, Boston. She has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and adults navigating ADHD, trauma, body dysmorphia, gender identity, and LGBTQI+ concerns.

Ms. Mansouri has completed certificate programs in various treatment modalities including Trauma-Informed Care (TIC), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR).

Prior to entering private practice, Ms. Mansouri spent many years working in community mental health, schools, and university counseling centers. Most recently, she worked as a psychotherapist providing individual therapy to students at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Bentley University, and Tufts University.

Ms. Mansouri is committed to working with LGBTQI+ youth, including those questioning their gender and/or sexuality. She welcomes clients and families from all backgrounds and she strives for culturally responsive and attuned care.


Message to clients

Is your child having trouble making friends due to worries or poor self-esteem? Counseling can help you and your loved ones overcome difficult barriers in your lives.

My goal is to offer a safe space where you feel understood and respected. Together, we will create a treatment plan to help you develop coping skills, build insight, and reach your personal goals.

ADHD - Skill-building and support around organizational challenges, distracted attention, procrastination; building and maintaining healthy routines and structure

LGBTQ and gender identity issues - Includes coming out, relating to others, identifying and communicating needs, relationships, and family issues; for transgender individuals, includes advocacy, body adjustment issues, getting needs met in the school community, safety, relationships, health care, and family issues

Trauma - Including dealing with past sexual assault, childhood trauma, environmental trauma (e.g. witnessing/experiencing violence), PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder)

Anxiety - Generalized anxiety, social anxiety, panic attacks

Autism spectrum disorder - Support understanding the diagnosis and related challenges and strengths; skill-building in areas of daily routine, transitions, coping with overwhelming sensory experiences, social skills, and emotion identification and regulation

Evaluations - Utilizing tests and assessments to identify strengths, provide diagnosis clarity, and inform treatment goals
