Petty believes that each person is the expert of their life, and strives to meet each person where they are with no judgement and no preconceived ideas. Counseling is not about labeling problems. Instead, it is about finding solutions and coping mechanisms. She works with children, teens, adults, couples, and families presented with a variety of issues, with a passion for geriatric mental health. The decision to begin therapy can be life changing and takes great courage, and she will be here to help you every step of the way.
Meta is passionate about her work and abilities to help others reach their full potential. Her areas of specialization include treatment for grief, depression, life stressors, divorce, blended families, and individuals and families associated with state agencies.
Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)
Panic attacks / panic disorder - Brief, intense periods of overwhelming fear or anxiety
Performance anxiety - Underperforming, due exclusively to anxiety
Social anxiety - Helping clients increase confidence and ability to interact with others amidst fear of being judged, worry about embarrassment, or concern about offending others
Climate anxiety - Coping with the unique stress created by climate change, including managing any overwhelming feelings of impending disaster and finding outlets for advocacy
Worry - Learning how worry shows up in one’s life and exploring how worry impacts daily life, relationships, and wellbeing; developing coping skills to mitigate the impacts of worry
