Michelle Benson

Michelle Benson is a Counselor located in South Carolina. She works with clients who are from the ages of 18 years old and up. Many of Michelle's clients come in when depression, anxiety, grief, and feelings of being overwhelmed get to be too much to handle alone.

Michelle is trained in using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which works by understanding how our negative thoughts can lead to negative behaviors. In a session, she focuses on changing those negative thoughts into more positive thoughts. this approach leads clients to focus on the good things in their lives to increase motivation and self-confidence.

Michelle's style is laid back and she uses humor to help her clients relax. She feels that her clients will not be able to open up and discuss their issues if they are not comfortable. Michelle encourages openness and will work to connect with her client on a personal level. Michelle also lets her client choose what issues they want to work on and what goals they want to set for counseling.

Michelle received her Master's from Lenoir-Rhyne University in 2021 and has work extensively with those dealing with depression and anxiety due to life circumstances. Outside of private practice, Michelle is working towards her PhD from Liberty University.
