Professional statement

Dr. Michelle Crimins is a clinical psychologist with offices in Union Square and Rye, New York. For over 20 years she has specialized in helping individuals navigate important relationships and achieve career goals, especially during times of stress and transition. Part of her expertise also includes working with young adults as they solidify their identities, strengthen relationships, and become financially independent. Her extensive background in child/adolescent development informs this work and also uniquely positions her to offer guidance in all stages of parenthood.

Dr. Crimins combines a variety of treatment modalities to best meet the needs of her clients, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, relational therapy, and psychodynamic therapy. Her integrated approach is individualized for each client, as are the goals and pace of therapy. She believes that growth and change are fostered by a safe, nonjudgmental space met by mutual curiosity.

Message to clients

I'm of the mindset that everyone can benefit from therapy. Each of us has unique worries and concerns that we 1) don't want to burden our friends and family with or 2) can't imagine anyone listening to without judgment. Therefore, choosing a therapist that you feel comfortable talking to is essential. The only way to truly benefit from therapy is to start off feeling understood, respected, and valued.
