Professional statement

Michelle Rodriguez, LMFT-A is a relationship counselor in Georgetown, Texas. Her therapeutic work focuses on couples, communication, and conflict. She only sees adults at this time. Michelle works most often with couples who one or both partners have experienced a painful or traumatic past, couples who have a difficult time communicating, and relationship conflict. Her therapeutic approach is holistic in nature, pulling in elements of family systems, cognitive processes, relationship dynamics, acceptance and commitment, emotionally-focused, somatic experiencing, and spirituality.

In session, Michelle focuses on mindful observations. This approach supports clients in more fully communicating their values and ideas. Michelle's style is warm, engaging, and non-judgmental . When clients first start therapy, she will work to understand the client and set goals together in a comfortable environment where they feel seen and heard.

Michelle practices in-person at her office in Georgetown, and via telehealth for clients anywhere in Texas. She completed her Master's degree in Psychology from LeTourneau University with a dual-focus of Professional Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy. Her undergraduate degree is in Communication Studies and Anthropology. She has completed the level 1 Gottman training and the first level of EMDR training.

Message to clients

Hello, and welcome to therapy! In this office I want you to feel at ease, comfortable, and able to express your most true and vulnerable self without judgment or shame. We are all a work in progress, and my goal as your therapist is to guide your climb and help to navigate the difficulties we experience. I feel each of these encounters has something within that can teach and prepare us for other events, both positive and negative, within our lives and share with those around us. Therapy is often difficult and having a therapist who understands and empathizes with you is a wonderfully healing process. It is my hope to be that for you. I have spent my professional career researching and studying relationships and the how and why of communication, and learning how to be a helper and healer of the emotional self. I strongly believe in the power and connection of the body systems, and that our mental health is so intricately tied to our physical and spiritual well-being. So, let's get started!
