Professional statement

Dr. Michelle Solomon is a Clinical Psychologist located in RI and licensed in all 41 PSYPACT states. Dr. Solomon enjoys working with young adults and adults who would like to better understand who they are. They find themselves overwhelmed by their constant second-guessing and their chronic self-doubt. Dr. Solomon’s clients often suffer from perfectionism, intense pressure to achieve, and low self-esteem. Their drive for success gets them far in life both professionally and in relationships, however they feel anxious and insecure about themselves and their daily lives.

Dr. Solomon is passionate about healing the mind, body, and spirit. Her holistic therapy approach includes energy work so that clients benefit from understanding the energy they put into the world. Clients also learn about mindfulness, sometimes incorporating mindfulness exercises into the therapy session. Dr. Solomon also has extensive experience practicing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). These cognitive behavioral therapy types give clients tools to become more aware of their thought patterns and how their thoughts can get in the way of feeling engaged, proud, or compassionate.

Dr. Solomon earned both her Master's in Counseling and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from William James College. Her dissertation has been among the most read in the country. Her research examined social media’s impact on mental health, including sense of self, self-esteem, and overall mental health and wellbeing. Dr. Solomon completed extensive training, including working at a college counseling center, multiple hospitals, and private practices. She coaches her clients through their mental health journey so they don’t feel alone, together celebrating their progress.

Message to clients

I am happy you’re here! I understand meeting with a new therapist can feel overwhelming and I make it a point to engage with you right at the start.

I approach therapy from a collaborative, nonjudgemental, and supportive framework and work with you to improve treatment. In the course of therapy we will assess your needs and develop workable, achievable treatment goals and measure progress along the way. The goal is for you to leave each session with the confidence knowing you have more insight, self-esteem, effective coping skills and tools to address life's challenges.

I enjoy connecting with the people I work with and helping them navigate the rocky areas of life as well as celebrate their success. Please reach out if you have any questions about my practice or therapy in general. I look forward to meeting you and supporting you!
