Miranda believes in every person’s ability to heal – helping client’s recognize their own resilience continues to inspire her work as a therapist. Miranda specializes in the treatment of trauma, complex trauma, and early childhood attachment injuries. She has significant experience working with adolescents and adults experiencing PTSD, C-PTSD, and those struggling with attachment trauma.
Miranda obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Sociology from Northern Arizona University and a Master of Counseling degree from Arizona State University. It was through Miranda’s work as a crisis responder at Victim/Witness Services in Flagstaff, Arizona where she became passionate about supporting those healing from trauma. Miranda’s trauma work continued after moving to Denver, Colorado in 2016. She provided in-home intensive treatment and case management for high-risk children and families before joining a private practice specializing in eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy.
Adolescent mental health - Working with adolescents, teenagers, and parents on social, academic, and/or emotional challenges throughout teenage years; addressing anxiety, family conflicts, peer relationships, school stress, transition to college, social media pressures, self-esteem, hopelessness about the future, emotional disregulation
Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)
Attachment issues - Development of effective relational and communication skills; insight into family attachment patterns;fostering healthy family relationships.
Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) - Healing painful experiences and memories from the past
Trauma - Coping and healing after threatening or scary events, such as witnessing accidents or experiencing sexual, verbal, emotional, or physical abuse
Complex PTSD (C-PTSD) - Recovering from the impact of long-term, repeated traumatic events, such as emotional abuse and neglect
