Dr. Molly Giorgio is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with a practice in Windsor, CT and who also sees clients via telehealth in Massachusetts and across Connecticut. She values authenticity, humor, and human connection in her clinical work, and believes that these are essential elements of healing. Through conversations, clients will explore, discover and process how their past can influence the present and future, and hopefully deepen their understanding of the self and increase awareness of how they are and how they would like to be.
Dr. Giorgio is eclectically trained, and pulls from many approaches, including – but not limited to – relational, psycho dynamic, and humanistic theories. Although the different approaches used are all clinically valid, ultimately she believes that clients are the expert of their own lives, and have the ability to make the changes they want to see.
Dr. Giorgio's doctoral degree in clinical psychology is from William James College, where her doctoral research focused on post-traumatic growth and meaning making with combat veterans. Her other clinical training includes survivors of trauma, substance abuse, community mental health, anxiety, depression, grief and bereavement, child and adolescent therapy, couples therapy and many other populations.
Dr. Giorgio believes that in order for therapy to be effective, there has to be a match between therapist and client, plus a readiness to change on the client’s part. When clients decide to work with Dr. Giorgio, they are able to figure out together if there is a match and how to develop a treatment plan that is tailored to them, their goals, and what is going on in their lives. She encourages you to take some time out of each week and give yourself a place to reset, slow down and just be.
