Professional statement

Monique Bellefleur is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Perinatal Mental Health Specialist (PMH-C) in Framingham, MA who specializes in eating disorders, negative body image, anxiety and perinatal mental health. She sees adolescents and adults ages 14 and up. Her practice includes all genders.

Monique comes from a humanistic perspective that utilizes a number of different treatment modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Her approach is rooted in strengths-based therapy that helps clients develop more self-compassion and acceptance of who they are and what makes them unique. She takes a team-oriented approach and frequently works with a team of nutritionists and primary care providers to ensure all of her client’s needs are being met. When helping clients improve their relationship with food and body, she works from a Health at Every Size perspective.

Monique believes that everyone deserves support to help them live the life they deserve. Before entering private practice full-time, she worked at the Multi-Service Eating Disorders Association (MEDA) and an eating disorder day treatment program in the Boston area. She also has experience educating communities on creating body inclusive spaces and is a certified Body Project leader. She received her EdM and BA from Boston University. In 2024, Monique received her certification in supporting those navigating trying to have children, pregnancy and the postpartum period through Postpartum Support International.

Message to clients

Thank you for taking the time to consider working with me and, more importantly, for taking the time to consider working on yourself. I hope I have the honor of being a part of your personal growth, whether you're just needing a little more support right now or have specific therapeutic goals in mind.

I have worked with a diverse range of clients and have developed a specialty in treating eating disorders, negative body image, poor self-esteem, anxiety and depression. In addition to having my own lived experience with navigating pregnancy and the postpartum period, I have training and experience working with other birthing people through this very unique time in their lives.

I believe that we all deserve self-compassion, self-care, and the chance to feel good about who we are and what we are doing in this world. I believe that full recovery from an eating disorder is possible and that everyone has the potential to learn how to accept themselves with all of their special quirks and qualities in order to embrace a fuller, more joyful life.

Most importantly, I believe therapy is a space to be heard - to express our honest selves and learn to use our voice in a nonjudgmental space.

I look forward to hearing from you.
