Morgan is a therapist in New York who works with people who want to change a variety of different aspects of their lives, but specializes in anxiety, depression, life transitions, men’s Issues, addiction, children, adolescents and adults. Morgan began his career working with children and adolescents in school settings. He then joined the clinical team at Mount Sinai West Hospital’s Addiction Institute, working with individuals experiencing different forms of addiction. Currently Morgan works with adults of all ages who want to change a number of areas in their lives.
Morgan’s strengths lie in his ability to listen to his clients and provide a comfortable space for his clients to explore what the client wants to change. In sessions Morgan gives space for his clients to explore openly what they are thinking and feeling. In these spaces Morgan helps clients explore how their thoughts, behaviors and emotions affect one another. Morgan and his clients discuss what thoughts, behaviors and emotions his clients want to lessen and what they want to strengthen. Morgan then uses his training to explore the best ways to achieve this, discuss the strategies with the clients and together they find what works for the client.
Though Morgan holds a postgraduate certificate in Advanced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, his approach touches on a variety of different therapies. Morgan works with his clients to develop a completely personalized therapeutic approach to best fit his client’s needs. Finding the right approach takes exploration and some degree of experimentation, which is why Morgan emphasizes collaboration with his clients, in which Morgan can learn what is and is not working for his client and his client can learn new techniques which they can master and use whenever needed.
Morgan is a Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW) currently working within the Resilience Lab Psychotherapy group and is based out of their SoHo office, located at 96 W. Houston Street in downtown Manhattan. Due to concerns regarding COVID-19 Morgan is seeing clients virtually via a number of different online platforms and over the phone, if necessary.
